Let’s celebrate everyday as Earth Day, not Earth Delay. Earth Day is a time for reflection, action, and advocacy.

Forty-five years ago, I was both a national and Washington D.C. area Earth Day coordinator. Plant seeds of hope today and kindly act. 

-Celebrate: Cultivate your garden of Eden with yourself and others. 

- Act: plant trees, reduce waste, or adopt clean energy initiatives.

- Collaborate: Engage with people places and things. It's all about connection and relationships.

- Lead by Example: There are millions of ways to show your compassion for the land.

Let’s share it together! Re-design everything you do to show how less is more.

Show your love for this planet and reap its wonderous returns.  Below I celebrate with a poem for my beloved planet;

Eco-Love

Shift 'h' from heart—Earth remains A symbol of life's magical interconnections.

It is Earth Day, not Earth Decay  Plant seeds of hope—start today.  Are you consuming, or conserving? Presuming, or preserving?  

Reclaim, regain; don’t be insane.  Plant a tree—it soothes the pain.  Don’t be the fool, yet stay cool;  A gift of thrift—the sharpest tool. 

Attention to prevention brings wise intention.Sowing Earth's greatest invention. Treat the world with great respect,  For our children, please protect.  

Take "h" off heart, place at the end. It spells Earth, let’s save and transcend.

I was just at the US Open as their guest. My mentor, Pauline Betz Addie, was inducted in their Court of Champions, winning four times in the 1940s.  In walking around several mindless cell phone users nearly collided with me. Celebrate Starshine

The shortest day is upon us. This is an opportunity to celebrate the most startime.  I embrace this starlight to light my inner candle. Dance under the Milky Way, allowing the trillions of lights filtering into the trillions of cells within you.   We are all children of the stars! It is a quantum pool of loving kindness. 93% of the mass in our body is stardust originating from giant red stars by the Big Bang 5 billion years ago. We share 97% of the same atoms. All the basic elements of life, oxygen, hydrogen, carbon, calcium, and iron, were created before the earth. Regain a Just American Spirit

Burying My Heart with My Broken Knees: Reflections on Scars, Wisdom, and Reparations   Recently, during a visit to my dermatologist, I remarked lightheartedly about the countless scars dotting my skin—souvenirs of my years as a tennis instructor, spent baking under the relentless sun by my own sundance. These thirty-plus marks, pale in significance next to the deeper, emotional scars I carry as a witness to the long-standing injustices faced by Indigenous peoples in this country.   I've always found solace in nature. As a boy enduring Washington, D.C.’s sweltering summers on passive solar panels known as tennis courts.
