Inner Wise



Everyday I am challenged to play an inner sport. A priceless inner game where I find peace, love and joy.

When I demonstrate inner wisdom, I find greater purpose. Also, this aligns my deeds with virtuous acts.  For example, leaving things better than I found them demonstrates how responsibility triumphs.  In turn, this greater care liberates me.  This is my inner quest.

Acceptance and "being the change" frees me since this micro intention has macro benefits. Greater insight and discernment allow me greater equanimity in these increasingly demanding times. 

May I transform curses into blessings.  May I find some treasure in any misfortune. Freely allow me higher purpose, potential, and possibility.  Also, it gives me greater reverence for people, places, and things.  

May I remember to celebrate an expanded sense of freedom. Appling my gratitude in any disaster allows me to touch greater harmony. At the same time, I must exercise higher self-love, outwardly radiating compassion. 

Balancing what I can and can not control may I let go and best go forth. Wisdom happens when I quiet my mind and listen to my heart accepting whatever comes. Such inner guidance liberates me.

Exploring possibilities, potential and purpose is this inside job so I may wisely serve.

Learning with heartfulness how to best go forth with greater insight and compassion is my inner game.

I was just at the US Open as their guest. My mentor, Pauline Betz Addie, was inducted in their Court of Champions, winning four times in the 1940s.  In walking around several mindless cell phone users nearly collided with me. Green Spaces Provide Great Economic Potential

This is a guest column thanks to Jack Lundee - "Taking a more progressive green approach." Some of the more heavily discussed topics of early 2010 include obesity, green infrastructure, clean water, and more. In particular, the addition and/or substitution of green spaces have been quite controversial as of late. Senior resident of Urban Land Institute Ed T. McMahon states "Green space adds value to property." Not only would these areas of conservation drive economic trends upward, but they also improve the overall health of the surrounding community. For example, substituting things like golf courses with conservation areas would essentially increase surrounding property value while diminishing overpriced maintenance fees. Celebrate Starshine

The shortest day is upon us. This is an opportunity to celebrate the most startime.  I embrace this starlight to light my inner candle. Dance under the Milky Way, allowing the trillions of lights filtering into the trillions of cells within you.   We are all children of the stars!
