Earth Day

Forty-four years ago, I was both a national and Washington D.C. area Earth Day coordinator. So below I share some verse to celebrate our beloved planet

It is Earth Day, not Earth Decay.
Plant seeds of hope make it OK
Are you consuming or conserving?
Are you presuming or preserving
Recycled back, follow nature's way
Bless this place no more dismay

Take h off heart place at the end
It spells earth let’s save and gain
Reclaim, regain don’t be insane
Plant a tree to ease your pain
Don’t be the fool yet be cool
A gift of thrift is the best tool

Deal with a full deck save the joker
Get wilds cards and win in poker
Wake up to the sound of the bugle
Saving resources shows your frugal
Venture outside and see the signs
Cultivate virtue enact reuse designs

If you pay attention to prevention
You’re creating the greatest intention
Treat the world with great respect
Remember, our children, please protect
Take h off heart place at the end
It spells earth let’s save and gain

It is Earth Day, not Earth Decay.
Plant seeds of hope make it OK
Are you consuming or conserving?
Are you presuming or preserving
Recycled back, follow nature's way
Bless this place, no more dismay
